In 2025, Carlsberg Camping was sold to the Grevelund family. The site managers and owners, Camilla and Kasper, run the campsite together with their two children, Adam and Nora. The family dreams of a place for big ideas, everyday nature experiences, and more presence with campers, friends, and family.

Carlsberg Camping was founded on Whitsun Saturday 1963 on the property Carlsberg, located about 65 meters above sea level with a beautiful view over the South Funen Archipelago. The Carlsberg farm was established in 1845 and completed in 1848. The name “Carlsberg” comes from Baron Carl Frederik Juel-Brockdorff (1839–1900), where “Carl” refers to the baron’s first name and “berg” is inspired by the German word for mountain.

On February 12, 1990, Carlsberg Breweries requested that the campsite stop using the name “Carlsberg,” as they had registered the name in 1927. After discussions, the brewery withdrew the case on April 5, 1990, and the campsite kept its original name.
